TWIST – PRACTICAL JETTING HEAD FOR SIMPLE BEAD APPLICATION

Twist is a compact, electropneumatic jetting head of the EasyLine. Due to its monoblock design, it is energy efficient and reliable in applying thermoplastic hot melt adhesives. The low-maintenance application head is suitable for gluing secondary packaging and end-of-line packaging applications up to a machine speed of 20–30 m/min. The numerous options for variable alignment of the application nozzle and the jetting head simplify installation and machine design.

HOT MELT APPLICATION HEAD FOR THE PACKAGING AND CONVERTING INDUSTRY

Twist is the ideal hot melt application head for simple, slow bead application on trays, folding cartons, paper cones, paper cups, paper bags and similar products. With 30 million operating cycles, it is extremely durable in its class and offers an attractive price/performance ratio as an EasyLine component. In combination with the Easy melter, two Twist application heads can be operated simultaneously.

TWIST: MAINTENANCE CAN BE SO EASY

Twist is a low-maintenance application head as the adhesive filter is located in the plug coupling of the EasyLine heated hose. For cleaning or changing the filter, the fully insulated plug coupling is removed from the application head without tools. Maintenance can then be performed conveniently on the heated hose. This prevents residues from entering the application head. The benefit:  no time-consuming activities of demounting and repositioning of the application head due to filter maintenance are necessary . Only the application nozzle needs to be cleaned or replaced as usual.

The Twist application head is connected to the Rio heated hose via a plug coupling. The adhesive filter is located in the plug coupling, which greatly simplifies maintenance.

TWIST APPLICATION HEAD FITS PERFECTLY INTO ANY MACHINE

With its practical features, Twist offers machine builders great scope for space-saving installation and optimal positioning of the application nozzle to the substrate:   

  • The head holder can be mounted on the right or on the left. It can also be rotated gradually at a 22.5° angle around the axis of the jetting head.
  • The application nozzles can be mounted in the direction of flow or at a 90-degree angle. In the 90-degree position, the nozzle can also be rotated at a 180-degree angle with the help of a spanner. 
  • The detached solenoid valve and the plug coupling of the EasyLine heated hose allow the application head to be rotated continuously around its own axis. The solenoid valve is magnetically attached to one of the two metal plates provided on the heated hose. 
  • Due to its monoblock design, Twist is narrow, compact and small. 

Regardless of whether the adhesive is to be applied horizontally, vertically, top-down or bottom-up on secondary packaging or end-of-line products, Twist always opens up a way to achieve optimal positioning.
For easier installation in the machine, the head holder on the Twist application head can be rotated step by step.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY, SAFETY AND RELIABLE ADHESIVE APPLICATION

What makes Twist so special is that the jetting element and heating part are combined in a monoblock. The design ensures homogeneous heat distribution in the application head. This reduces the risk of hot melt adhesive overheating during a short production stop. The quality of the adhesive application is immediately reliable even after a standstill. 

The CoolTouch protection on the monoblock and plug coupling reduces heat emission and thus protects staff from burns. CoolTouch and monoblock ensure outstanding energy efficiency. 

The fully insulated plug coupling of the Rio heated hose eliminates thermal bridges between the heated hose and the application head.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION AND COMPATIBILITY WITH EASYLINE

The Twist jetting head is controlled via a 24 VDC signal directly via PLC without a booster. For operation, it requires an EasyLine heated hose with plug coupling and integrated filter.
