FKV COATING HEAD FOR LARGE-SCALE HOT MELT COATINGS WITH PRECISE APPLICATION WEIGHT

FKV coating heads coat wide surfaces continuously and uniformly with thermoplastic or reactive adhesives. Even at dynamic production speeds, they achieve a consistently precise application weight. The application of closed or open hot melt coating applications onto different substrates is done by contact application. The coating heads have a modular design and are available in various sizes. Application widths of up to 3,200 mm are possible.

HOT MELT COATING ON DIFFERENT MATERIALS

The FKV coating head applies thermoplastic hot melt adhesives (EVA, APAO, polyester, PSA, PO) and PUR hot melts to various materials such as paper, textiles, fabrics, foils, fleece and foams. It is suitable for laminating and profile sheathing systems as well as for coating and laminating systems. Both closed and open adhesive applications are possible with the FKV. 

The application heads and various materials can be tested in our customer laboratory at our headquarters in Switzerland. An experienced project team will support you in implementing your projects.

UNIFORM COATING APPLICATION EVEN AT VARIABLE SPEEDS

The design of the FKV coating head enables continuous coating application with precise application weight. The quantity control in the melter ensures that the application weight remains constant even at dynamic production speeds. Temperature control with optimal heat distribution in the application head also contributes to the quality of the adhesive application. With the optional mounting bracket, the coating head is precisely aligned to the substrate.

HOT MELT COATING APPLICATION WITH HIGH PROCESS RELIABILITY

The FKV coating heads are made of wear-resistant steel and thus ensure reliable operation. A maximum of two heated hose connections – depending on the width of the nozzle – are positioned in the middle of the coating head. The adhesive distribution in the nozzle enables an optimal adhesive flow. The integrated adhesive filter reduces contamination in the application nozzle. 

FLEXIBLE COATING HEADS UP TO 3,200 MM APPLICATION WIDTH

The FKV coating heads allow application widths of 10 to 3,200 mm. Two types are available in various sizes: 

Type with continuously adjustable application width 
With the continuously adjustable version, the application width can be adjusted either manually or by motor. This allows quick and easy format changes. 

Version with fixed application width
With the version with a fixed width, the application width is defined by a mask in the nozzle. Masks can also be used to apply different application patterns, such as adhesive-saving strips. 

With both types, the FKV coating head achieves a high edge definition. This reduces the amount of waste from offcuts, which saves costs.
