After a tour of the production halls, Tim Paduch, Sustainability & Compliance Manager at Robatech, presented the students with sustainability projects which have already been implemented as well as ongoing projects. The project to determine the product and company carbon footprint was one of the three most innovative in 2023 as part of the Aargauische Kantonalbank (AKB) promotion program. ‘I am impressed by how Robatech AG deals intensively and seriously with the issue of sustainability right up to top management,’ says Patrick Küng, expert jury member of the AKB promotion program and Head of AKB’s Corporate Clients & Institutional Banking division. It was exciting for him to see at this event how Robatech has developed since the promotion program.
With the information afternoon at Robatech, Dr. Pavlina Pavlova, Program Manager of the CAS course and also Coordinator of the AKB promotion program, gave her students an insight into how a family business with an international focus puts sustainability into practice. ‘Robatech specifically provides resources for the issue of sustainability and authentically communicates the topic to the world. The family atmosphere within the company, with its subsidiaries and partners in over 80 countries, facilitates implementation,’ explained the CAS Manager. ‘It is also a positive sign that the employees initiate, support and actively implement sustainability projects as a matter of course.’
Martin Meier, CEO of Robatech, added: ‘This creates a special dynamic in our initiatives. Employees really put a lot of effort into the project to avoid plastic packaging. We currently use 50 % less plastic per year. That’s remarkable!’ Robatech AG wants its products to be packaged plastic-free by the end of 2025.
